Electronic Advanced Passenger Information System

The Joint Regional Communication Centre (JRCC) was mandated by Caricom to develop an eAPIS (Electronic advanced passenger Information System) and legislation has been passed appointing the JRCC as the sole collector and disseminators or Advanced Passenger Information (API)

The electronic advance passenger information system or eAPIS is a web based application that provides or allows the Aviation/Maritime Carriers an electronic means of uploading and transmitting their passenger and crew information online. Available to these carriers at the CARICOM eAPIS website are various methods of transmission which are all web based.

These methods of submissions include:

  • The Downloadable and unloadable Excel Spread Sheet.
  • The Online Portal Form
  • Upload area for UNedifact Files
  • Upload area for XML Files

The Downloadable and Unloadable Spread Sheet Maritime / Aviation

The Excel Spread Sheet provides an easy-to-use and efficient method for reporting arrival and departure passenger information. It was developed as to enable the user to upload the API directly to the JRCC via the Web thereby eliminating faxes scanners and telephone calls.

The Excel Spread Sheet is extremely useful in instances where the voyage/flight has multiple legs or in instances where a subsequent API needs to be submitted for a previous voyage/flight where minimum or no changes in passenger or crew is required then the minor changes can be made and resubmitted as a new API.

The Online Portal Form Maritime/Aviation

The online portal submissions method is a user friendly and direct method of transmitting API to the JRCC using the online web form.

It was developed to provide user with an effective direct link to the www.caricomeapis.org website whereby they can input the Crew and passenger manifest directly on the portal form which will be subsequently validated and error handled before being forwarded to the JRCC for processing.

UN-Edifact Upload

UN-Edifact web services upload access allows users to manually upload the raw UN-Edifact file format online at the www.caricomeapis.org website.

With the coding provided in the data elements link the UN-edifact upload provides the user with a direct link which validates and conducts error handling of data before the information is processed by the JRCC.

XML Upload

The XML web services upload access allows users to manually upload the raw XML file format online at the www.caricomeapis.org website.

With the coding provided in the data elements link the XML upload provides the user with a direct link which validates and conducts error handling of data before the information is processed by the JRCC.

Instructions on preparing and submitting arrival and Departure API using the Web Services at www.caricomeapis.org to ensure information is completed and submitted for the various methods of submission are provided below.
